Ally decks work best when a card enters the battlefield as an Ally, but Cryptoplasm can become whatever Ally would work best in your particular situation. My thoughts is that mimeo would be good for a sideboard if you knew you were playing against creature heavy opponents and you were playing heavy mill or removal as well, but as a commander it might not add anything against certain opponents, so I would rather have damia. Board wipes are your best friend for the turn before you cast her - everyone will be spending their mana to re-stabilize, and give you a chance to run her out safely for the draw. The general strategy of this deck is to hold off your opponent's win and drain them of resources until you feel it's time to put the game on complete lock down.
